MEMBERSHIP ORIENTATION MEETING 

 

A meeting will be held both in person and by Zoom for our 2021 membership orientation, which includes updates for the 2021 golf season and a review of rules presented by Donna Montoya and Linda Paik, our rules committee chairs. 

 

COVID precautions will be followed so please wear a mask and maintain a 6-foot distance from other members. 

 

Ciancio’s is removing the meeting room divider, setting up tables as one large conference room for extra space. Women will be seated at round tables with eight chairs at each table. Please RSVP by Thursday, April 15, 2021, to dale.linda622@gmail.com to indicate if you plan on attending in person OR if you plan on following the meeting via ZOOM. We need an exact count whether you will attend in person or Zoom for meeting Covid restrictions and planning purposes. Once you RSVP, you cannot change from in person to Zoom or vice versa. Many thanks for helping us with this by RSVP’ing.

Check in will be from 8:00 - 8:15 am at tables on the north side of the Pro Shop.

Water, chips and a granola bar will be provided for you to take on the course while playing

Lone Elk - Your scorecard has colored squares on each Hole showing which player is the Lone Elk for that Hole. The other 3 players play a Best Ball Scramble, (see below) while the designated player, the Lone Elk, plays her own ball. The Lone Elk will play her own ball throughout the hole, record her gross score in the colored square and record her NET score for that hole as their Lone Elk Score.

On HOLE #5, the Team can CHOOSE their own Lone Elk.  

For the Team Score, add the scramble total to the Lone Elk total.

(Teams of 3 golfers – Each player will choose a hole that does not have a Lone Elk and play as the Lone Elk for that hole.

The other two players will play the Scramble portion of the competition. 

 

In this Best Ball Scramble, the 3 players will tee off, and the Lone Elk will decide which drive to use. The 3 players will then hit their second shot from that position and continue this format until a ball is holed.

The Opening Day Luncheon will be on the patio and will begin after golf on May 4. 

 

There is a separate sign up for the luncheon on Golf Genius....the sign up will begin on April 8.  Please sign up as soon as possible if you are planning to attend.      

 

The menu is chicken salad on croissants, Caesar salad and brownies; ice tea, lemonade and water to drink.  The cost is $20.00. 

 

It's non-refundable since the restaurant has to order and prepare the food.  If golf is cancelled due to bad weather, we will either hold the luncheon anyway or reschedule if we know early enough.  

 

The deadline for paying is April 14.  This year Ciancio's is asking for an early count. 

 

Since the Pro Shop is closed and we don't know when they will reopen, please send your check payable to Hyland Hills 9 and write Opening Day Lunch on the memo line to:

Email announcement of registration will be sent out 4 weeks prior to the event.  6 tee times, 24 maximum players.  Signups must include payment and must be received no later than 2 weeks prior to event to secure your spot.  You may choose your foursome, but players must be prepaid before either: 1) max of 24 players is reached or 2) registration is closed, whichever occurs first.  If you need to cancel for any reason, you are responsible for finding your replacement.  No refunds will be issued.

FUN DAY/MEMBER-GUEST - Modified Scotch Twosome/Scramble – Each player (within the twosome) tees off and will play her own ball from the selected tee shot to completion of the hole. At least three tee shots must be used from each player (within the twosome) for the round.  This is a competition between the 2 teams in each foursome.

 

This tournament is an 8:00 am Shotgun,  

Check in will be from 7:15 - 7:40 am on the Patio.

Meet on the Patio at 7:40 for a Welcome note and head out to your tee boxes at 7:45.

This tournament will be limited to 72 players.

Be sure to sign your guest up on the Portal when you sign yourself up.

Players and guests will be placed on a wait list once that limit has been reached.

The Fun Day Member/Guest Luncheon will be on the patio, and will begin after golf on June 17th. 

 

There is a separate sign up for the luncheon on Golf Genius....the sign up will begin on May 8th.  Please sign up as soon as possible if you are planning to attend. Don't forget to sign your guest up too.  The deadline for the luncheon sign up is May 27th. The menu is chicken parmesan sandwiches, caesar salad, cookies, iced tea, lemonade, and water to drink.
